trying to figure out what the current GM truck axles are. specifically 1/2 ton

8.5 inch? 9.5 inch? 10 bolt, 12 bolt, 14 bolt.

I'm thinking the current 1/2 ton axle is a 12 bolt 9.5, yes?

Grab a tape measure and go to a dealership.

You go to a dealer. why is this information so hard to find? from the best I can gather it looks like the 4wd versions get 14 bolt 9.5?

8.6 in the V6, 9.5 for the 6.2L V8, at least in 2014.

Looks like 2014+ is 12 bolt and before then was 14.
